Job Description:
As a Buyer III you will purchase tools, equipment, diagnostics and wheel service commodities for the Service Solution segments that include: the automotive industry, off road, agriculture and recreational vehicles. You will be responsible for planning, reviewing, sourcing, buying and managing inventory to assure the delivery of goods and services required to support operating and manufacturing needs.

Tasks
Planning and buying purchase goods and services at best negotiated cost/value/lead-time to support the business demands.
Minimize inventory ownership and transactions through execution of consignment and visual restocking programs.
Work with suppliers, Engineering, Project Management, Finance and Sales on continuous improvement in product and process.
Respond to product or supplier issues by negotiating the appropriate delivery schedules for purchased goods and services.
Ensure inventory and account accuracy through the timely processing of Engineering Change Orders (ECO), debit memorandums, and Material Review Board (MRB) documents; work with other departments to expedite the needed processing.
Work with and assist the Commodity Manager in negotiating contracts, pricing issues, terms issues, and day to day issues with suppliers.
Develop supplier relationships to ensure favorable terms, desired quality, and 100% on-time delivery.
Support all new product releases (New Item Set-up) by setting up part numbers and inputting data from the quote package into the ERP (Baan) system.

Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Business or related field is preferred. Will consider equivalent years of experience in a related manufacturing environment in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 5 years experience in purchasing, materials management, manufacturing, sales, customer service. International buying experience is a plus
Knowledge of Business Process Flow, including demonstrated understanding of components of total cost (material, labor and overhead), as well as transaction costs is preferred
Knowledge of ERP systems, Baan is highly preferred
Strong organizational skills and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time, including following up on his/her actions
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Ability to work as part of a team and persistent when dealing with Suppliers and internal departments, including but not limited to engineering, finance, sales and project management
Ability to understand supplier quality and on-time measurements; expects compliance of suppliers
Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate to arrive at creative win-win solutions
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and/or Certified Production Inventory Manager (CPIM) is a plus
