1968 shelby GT500KR Convertible, Black over Black, Concours Triple Crown Winner
1968 Shelby GT500KR #02524 is the American Pharoah of the automotive world. This thoroughbred is finished in
stunning Raven Black over Black, one of only 6% of total KR Convertible production or 33 cars. Add to that the
quality of her restoration, not just concours gold winning, but one of only a handful that have earned the Shelby
Concours Triple Crown:
• 2012 Mustang Club of America, Providence, Rhode Island National Show, Concours Trailered Gold Award
• 2012 Shelby American Automobile Club, Watkins Glen, New York, Concours Gold-Div 2
• 2012 Team Shelby, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Heritage Gold Award - Concours Heritage Class
The quality of her condidition compliments her pedigree.
" # 2524 is one of the finest examples of a restored Shelby anywhere. You will be hard pressed to find a more
historically accurate car anywhere. If you ever wanted to experience what a new 1968 Shelby was like, this is a
rare opportunity to own the very best. That's not my opinion, but rather the opinion of the most knowledgeable
Shelby people in the world." -Peter Disher, aka the Coralsnake and SAAC Concours Judge
In 2012, 2524 underwent a full rotisserie restoration by Tim Lea, one of the most well regarded restorers within
the Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) community. The 428 Cobra Jet big-block V-8 engine, dated 8B5 (or
February 5, 1968) a few months before the build date of the car, and VIN stamped C-6 automatic transmission were
completely rebuilt to original factory specifications. She has been driven approximately 3,100 miles since 2012,
mostly to local shows and events in the Los Angeles area. In addition, #2524 was featured in a recent Ford family
wedding.
Retired from competition, occasional driving does results in slight patina, primarily within the engine bay and
undercarriage. Minor wear
