Description

1933 Cadillac V12
All-Weather Phaeton Model 370-C
#4 of 37 produced with this being 1 of 2 known to exist!
PROVENANCE
This very rare vehicle has been well maintained throughout its life & repainted, reupholstered & re-chromed in 1961
then into storage in 1965. Purchased by my uncle in 1997 who sympathetically rebuilt the engine & drivetrain
encompassing mostly the repainting, polishing, replacing incidental trim items etc. & re-chroming all parts
bringing it to at least a high #3 condition, possibly #2 based on its present condition. It was toured & shown
until 2003 at which time it was driven into garage & stored since. We have chosen to leave the vehicle in its
stored condition rather than attempting to start it, but have checked all fluids, lubricated the cylinders and
successfully spun the engine manually with ease. Additionally, the car was recently rolled out of the garage for
the purpose of taking pictures, proving the tires hold air and nothing is locked up.
This very Cadillac was specially ordered & earmarked for display at the 1933, Alfred P. Sloan yearly industrial
luncheon* at New York City's Waldorf Astoria’s Jade Room Exhibit as evidenced by the original Distributor’s
Order dated 9/26/32 (see below). A GM archive photo (see below) shows a 370-C on display at the 1931 luncheon &
this car, Number 4 was likely displayed as the showcase vehicle at the January 1933 Sloan Luncheon, considering it
shipped to the Waldorf Astoria Jade Room Exhibit just weeks before.
