US Government has now included civilian contractors to establish their military presence in countries such as Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq. These tasks which the civilian contractors have to take up can lead to injuries or even death. So, in order to keep them motivated and their families safe the government has introduced Defense Base Act which enables them to take the medical and compensation benefits should anything goes wrong. The people who are working for private companies or who work for Public projects or who are funded and approved as per the Foreign Assistance Act and the ones who are working for US employers offering relief to such services are included. The various benefits provided by them include insurance that is paid by the government in case of death and compensation in case of disability and loss of earning potential.
