Case Management

The Office of Social Services provides case management to low-income families and disabled adults to aid them in attaining greater self-sufficiency. The goal is to provide services that afford the highest level of personal independence though effective use of resources. Case Management can also assist USA Residents who require emergency assistance for vacate/eviction notice.

Emergency Utility Assistance

Emergency utility assistance is available when clients are faced with a utility termination notice. Referrals are made to clients with needs beyond the scope and resources of this office to other service providers who can address additional needs.

Veteran Services
Veterans of the United States Armed Forces are entitled to certain benefits that reflect the pride and gratitude the country has for its veterans. The Veterans Services program advocates for veterans and their dependents in Harris County. They provide assistance to veterans and their dependents with the application process regarding compensation, pension, medical, education, insurance, and death benefits. This office also assists veterans and their dependents in obtaining important documentation needed to apply for benefits.

Rental & Housing Financial Assistance Programs

USA residents that need short term help and longer term self-sufficiency may be able to get assistance. Social Services of America , also may offer support or referrals in partnership with local organizations that are focused on helping the less fortunate. Case managers can help individuals receive assistance is a crisis and also provide long term self-sufficiency to the family. Housing needs can be met from homeless prevention services, foreclosure counseling and rent assistance, all of which may be available. Much of the assistance is provided from the Housing Department and the Emergency Financial assistance program. They are a HUD approved agency and offer services such as Mortgage Default Counseling/Foreclosure Intervention, Financial Literacy/Money Management Workshops, Rental Delinquency Counseling, and Home Buyer Educational Workshops.
