Installing ERS Wrap Blanket Insualtion for Blind Flanges, Manway Covers, Strainer and Pump Covers.
Tools/Supplies Needed: Cable tie tensioners, cable ties, staple gun, staples, and caulk.
- Set the cover on the pipe blind flange covers, manway cover, strainer, pump or other circular component, and using stainless steel cable ties, draw the insulation in.
- Depending on the size of the bonnet or pump/strainer can be covered using an ERS Wrap Small cover or ERS Wrap blanket insulation roll. If there are ajoining hoses, pipes or levers, you may need to cut the blanket insulation.
- Sealing the cuts in blanket insulation: Fold the insulation under creating a field fabricated finished edge and staple. You may choose to apply silicone caulk where the insulation was cut to inhibit the entry of water.
