Seniors can receive funds in the form of a grant, which will be used to repair any safety hazards, or to remodel their homes to make them more accessible for individuals with disabilities, or mobility issues. This grant is only for homes in rural areas with populations of 10 000 or lower.
Eligibility requirements for these grants are as follows:
- participants must be 62 years of age or older
- very low income seniors who do not have enough income to receive a loan
- must be a U.S. citizen, and provide identification to prove their age
