We have all encountered those anonymous flagging people in bright vests with hard hats on stopping us to allow other traffic to move through work zones. Those people have very IMPORTANT JOBS! They protect the lives of other people including themselves by safely controlling vehicular traffic through work zones.
The job is challenging and physically demanding, but REWARDING.

No experience is necessary because we will TRAIN YOU!

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS TO BECOME A TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST/FLAGGER?
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Provide and maintain valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving history
Negative drug test as well as acceptable criminal background check
Willingness to complete and successfully pass 1 week of classroom training to include, but not limited to, ATSSA Certification, CPR/First Aid Certification, Drug-Free Workplace, defensive driving.
Positive, safety-conscious attitude.
Ability to recognize what a driver is going to do, how he/she will react to being stopped or slowed down, whether or not he/she intends to speed up in defiance of the flagger.
Ability to calm rather than pour gasoline on frustrated drivers’ hot tempers.
