Location: Missouri Hotel - Springfield, MO
Functional Area: Operations Team
Department: Resident Services
Supervisor: Director of Housing
Position: Full-Time - primarily days some nights and weekends
required
Education: HS diploma or GED preferred
Experience: 1 to 2 years in Customer Service, Janitorial, Security or other relevant experience preferred
Off Sunday and Mondy
Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.
Must be able to work other shifts as needed.
Position Description:

An Operations Associate is responsible for helping to ensure the daily operations activities of running an Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing program are met. The activities required to keep a Shelter/Housing program running smoothly include answering phones, monitoring who is entering and exiting the building, completing required program paperwork, cleaning, minor maintenance, de-escalating people who are upset, property checks for safety concerns, providing assistance to residents, logging pertinent observations, interacting with the Resident Services team, encourage compliance with Program Guidelines and complete notifications when Resident does not comply, along with various other activities as deemed necessary.
Required Skills:
Ability to multi-task
Ability to prioritize in a chaotic environment and ensure residents are safe and receive appropriate medical care and police intervention when required
Attention to detail when completing paperwork, taking messages, and completing shift log
Ability to perform various cleaning tasks which may include heavy lifting, pushing and pulling of objects
Ability to be assertive using de-escalation techniques without the use of aggressive behavior
Compassion for the poor, mentally ill and those who have substance abuse concerns while avoiding behavior that enables them
Work independently while still being a part of the overall Resident Services Team
Ability to make independent decisions within the general Program Guidelines and the overall Mission of The Kitchen, Inc.
