Full-Time Hourly Position (M-F, 10-7)
Nonprofit Organization
$12-14 per hour
Arlington, VA (metro accesible)

Position Goal:

The Consumer Education Specialist supports the Nonprofit's mission to ensure that all families who need child care have access to resources that support them in making informed choices for their families, finding care, becoming savvy users, and understanding child care's role in early learning and school success.

General Function:

The Consumer Education Specialist contributes to the Nonprofit's mission by providing consumer education and referring families to their local child care resource and referral (CCR&R) service via a toll-free hotline and website Spanish and English, and updating the database.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Answer all calls and web site requests and provide child care information to customers.
Enter and maintain customer and CCR&R data database
Prepare usage, trends, and other activities reports.
Process child care subsidy applications
Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

Child care experience or social service experience is a plus
Demonstrated successful experience in providing exemplary customer service.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Strong computer skills including; word processing, data entry, database management and reporting, Internet use, email.
Time management skills and the ability to work in a fast changing and fast paced environment.
The ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects or responsibilities.
