JOB DESCRIPTION: Seeking an Executive Director to lead grassroots efforts to develop across-system, fee-based Association composed of self-advocates, parents,employment and residential providers, and any other constituents committed toimproving services and opportunities for individuals with disabilitiesthroughout Washington State. Position will be responsible for establishing 501(c)(3) status for neworganization. Frequent state-wide travel is required, including legislative andpolicy advocacy for individuals with disabilities in Olympia, and hands-onoutreach/education activities throughout the state.We are looking for candidates with education, experience,and personal attributes that include:Leading the growth of a diverse and dynamic organization in an executive role with accountability to a Board of Directors, ideally with direct experience with agencies or systems serving individuals with disabilities and/or community and legislative advocacy. Developing and executing strategic and operation plans, financial management, and budgeting experience.   Ability to set appropriate goals and outcomes.Managing communications for public relations, advocacy, education, conferences, and networking activities, including the development of marketing/outreach materials.  Managing complex relationships and the ability to identify and articulate a strong membership value proposition. Flexibility, versatility, and adaptability, utilizing multiple styles (i.e., can make things happen many different ways). Possessing great stamina, resilience and mental agility, and the capacity to cope with ambiguity. Demonstrating excellent holistic/conceptual ability, but also has great capacity for detail; with the ability to do both visioning and task lists. Possessing politically savvy, aware of both internal and external politics; and the ability to deal with changing organizational dynamics.
