Job Description:

McKinney Church is a non-denominational, externally-focused Bible church whose purpose is to "Develop Christ - Centered People Who Make a Difference" by helping them Connect with Christ, Transform in Community, and Engage their World. McKinney emphasizes the practical relevance of the Bible for everyday life and for empowering and equipping its members to serve the world in Jesus' name. The trademark of McKinney is an open-handed approach to serving the community and the world through partnerships, encouraging its attendees to give and serve through a wide-range of ministry and service opportunities outside of the church building. As McKinney moves into the future, it is committed to even more external focus, encouraging every person who calls McKinney "home" to partner in ministry as well as with ministries, engaging their world wherever they are.
The College Pastor at McKinney will be responsible for all of the college ministry activities and community groups. The church is in close proximity to Texas Christian University (TCU) as well as several community colleges in the southern Ft. Worth area. The College Pastor is expected to think strategically about evangelistic growth at the college campuses, connecting students with Christ and then to a healthy church body, even if that body is not McKinney. The College Ministry is in a time of transition so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and mold it within the broader vision of the church. The focus of the position will be building open community groups for college students, with an emphasis on connecting them to the larger church body. The church desires to see the college ministry grow and serve not only inside the church but the outside community.
The successful candidate will preferably come from a growing church and will have lead a college or significant student ministry for three or more years. They will understand the need to maintain personal relationships with students, staff and volunteers while also having a strategic vision for growing the College Ministry. They will display a significant amount of growth potential, and will be balanced in the areas of strategic and relational abilities. They will be able to cast vision and direction as well as lead the way, while remaining strongly relational in order to cultivate and build relationships with volunteers and staff.
