Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Value Stream Manager Manufacturing Support opening to join our Operations organization in Amana, IA.

Day to Day
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Value Stream Manager is a leadership position that directs and is responsible for entire value stream of an assembly or support production operation. This position ensures that all daily activities for the assigned production stream are customer focused and performed in a manner consistent with achievement of the plant vision and its goals and objectives. This position is the key decision maker and escalation point for any value stream wide issues or decisions across all shifts. Acts as owner of assigned production value stream including assuring all inputs and outputs support the plant mission and goals. All Production Supervisors working in the assigned value stream across all shifts report to this position. Collaborates with engineering resources and other support functions (materials, finance, etc) on short and long term improvements to their value stream.

What You Will Do
Has responsibility and accountability for operations processes and performance in assigned value stream across all shifts & weekends
Consistently ensures that area job responsibilities are promptly and efficiently carried out and nurtures a high level of staff performance
Oversees the execution and control of assigned area Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance goals to support plant wide metrics
Accountable for Lean activities through involvement in event planning and the execution of activities defined in that process. Must also Champion lean through daily coaching in lean tools and methodologies.
Drives continuous improvement in area of responsibility relative to business objectives (labor efficiencies, process efficiencies, 5S, etc).
Prioritizes and organizes short term and long term goals and activities in accordance with business objectives
Has direct management responsibility for Supervisors in assigned area including employee relations, team building, performance management and professional development
Ensure strict adherence to all Whirlpool manufacturing standards/methods
Ensure strict adherence to the Whirlpool Leadership Model
Advocates and verifies that production associates, supervisors, and engineers are thoroughly trained to Whirlpool standards
Identify and addresses opportunities for improvement relative to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics and personnel development

Qualifications
What You Need To Succeed
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business related field
5-7 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work autonomously with little oversight and make prudent and informed decisions, often quickly and with limited information
Strong understanding of Lean principles and methodologies. Proven track record in driving continuous improvement via lean tools
Proven ability to grow individual and organization competency through proactive coaching and mentoring
Proven change agent
Outstanding communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and team building skills
Demonstrated success in a multi tasking environment
PC proficient in MS Office

This position requires execution of Whirlpools Non-Disclosure and Non-Competition Agreement.
