Stockroom Supervisor

Position Overview:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying and issuing materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom by performing the following duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 20 associates in the Materials group.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plans layout of stockroom considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
Advises associates on care and preservation of items received, and stored; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, and maintaining stock; and related problems.
Prepares reports of non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
Issues written and oral instructions.
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
Addresses errors and complaints.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma (Associate’s Degree Preferred)
4+ years of experience in a supervisory, management or leadership role directing a team
4+ years of experience working in a stockroom, warehouse, distribution, storeroom
Intermediate skills/experience with MS Excel and Word
Ability to work day shift (6am-2:30pm) with opportunities for overtime

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Associate’s Degree preferred
ERP experience (ex. MAPICS, AS400, Oracle, etc…)
Prior experience working in related industry or for a manufacturing organization highly preferred
