Los Angeles office of our client, a Chambers ranked law firm, is actively seeking associates to join our Insurance Coverage Litigation/Transactional Coverage Group. The candidate will serve in prosecution of insurance coverage claims in pre-litigation settings, in mediations and in litigation; analysis and critiques of commercial insurance policies, including drafting of manuscript policy language; and handling contractual risk transfer issues, including indemnification provisions and insurance requirements, in a wide range of contracts, such as design and construction contracts, license agreements, JV agreements, management agreements and purchase and sale agreements. Will represent primarily owners, investors, general contractors, developers, and homebuilders and must have experience handling coverage issues relating to defective construction, among other types of claims. Should have 5 years of experience. Must preferably have experience with real estate and construction insurance coverage, focusing on the policyholder side only. Must have experience with the following types of policies: commercial general liability (CGL), umbrella liability and excess liability; builder's risk; permanent property; and professional liability. Experience with wrap-up insurance programs is a plus.

Additional Skills: The candidate must have a strong academic background and excellent writing skills.

The Los Angeles office of this vigorous firm specializes in real estate law, environmental law, and civil litigation. The firm boasts an extremely dynamic group of attorneys; the firms partnership is both young (most are in their 30s and 40s) and talented. Associates are treated very well, and people are generally quite happy working here. Retention is incredibly high; in fact, approximately two-thirds of the associates who joined the firm in the last five years are still at the firm. Despite the firms size, salaries are only slightly below market.
