New York City office of an AmLaw firm seeks litigation associate attorney with 5-6 years of experience. The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of significant litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, arguing substantive motions, and extensive legal writing. Judicial clerkship experience is strongly preferred and language skills (specifically Spanish and Portuguese) are preferred.
Additional Skills: The candidate must be highly organized, interested in taking responsibility for cases and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must preferably have strong academic and professional credentials with excellent analytical, legal research, writing and communication skills.
Although more commonly thought of as a Washington, DC, firm, this New York office has many of the same practice areas. As this firm continues to grow its New York office, this is a tremendous opportunity for associates to get in on the ground floor in terms of shaping the character of the office. We like the litigation work that is being done in this office, as it has a decidedly corporate bent, with an emphasis on securities litigations. A down-to-earth group of attorneys, this office should emerge as a practice unto itself over time.
