Mental Health Tech

Responsibilities Provides safe environment for patient, staff, and visitors Follows program schedule, rules, and guidelines with minimal supervision Facilitate and lead community groups assigned Completes patient procedures and documentation accurately and within time frame specified Follow process for contraband procedures Patients with special precautions are monitored according to facility policy Non Violent physical and /verbal interventions techniques are utilized on patients exhibiting violent/ inappropriate behaviors Patients receive assistance in achieving treatment goals and objectives Patient behaviors are accurately assessed, reported, and documented. Alerts supervisors to risk management and quality concerns. Admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients are assisted ;especially completion of belongings inventory Patients with special precautions are monitored according to facility policy. Performs special functions as required (ex: feed and bathe geriatric patients). Assists in assessment, planning, and implementation of the unit Job Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience: Two (2) years experience in area of mental health/ psychiatric setting Licensure/ Certification: Certified as a Mental Health Technician or Nursing Assistant highly preferred.
