The Ritz-Carlton Baltimore Residence, located at 801 Key Hwy, Baltimore, Maryland, 21230 is currently hiring a Residences Bellstand/Door Attendant.

Responsibilities include:

The Door Attendant is responsible for serving the residential units and applicable common elements at The Ritz-Carlton Residences Inner Harbor, Baltimore.  The primary focus for the Door Attendant is serving the lobby entrance areas for The Ritz-Carlton Residences Inner Harbor, Baltimore.

Organizational Relationship:

The Door Attendant reports to the Residence Manager and Lead Concierge at The Ritz-Carlton Residences Inner Harbor, Baltimore, while maintaining relationships with all employees, residents and guests.

Standard Specifications:        

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities.  To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves, other employees, residents or guests.

Essential Abilities:

  • Ability to understand resident and/or guest inquiries and provide responses.
  • Ability to communicate well in written and spoken English with residents and/or guests, visitors and staff.
  • Ability to focus attention on residents needs.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize.
  • Ability to think quickly and make good judgments.
  • Ability to work well under pressure during peak periods.
  • Ability to exert physical effort in removing, replacing and transporting residents and/or guest luggage in and out of vehicles.
  • Ability to withstand being outdoors and exposed to all weather conditions throughout assigned shift.
  • Ability to remain stationary at assigned post for long periods of time.
  • Ability to maintain positive relations with taxi/limousine drivers.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and security of residents and guests, and the protection of the property.
  • Perform an active role in all building emergency procedures.
  • Maintain the highest standards of security, hospitality and service.
  • Dynamically advance the level of service provided to the residential client base.
  • Participate in and contribute to training programs.
  • Successfully complete training process.
  • Maintain records and documentation as assigned.
  • Additional duties as may be assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure that everyone is greeted with the utmost expression of gracious hospitality.
  • Ensure the timely opening of doorways for people to egress or enter.
  • Remain at assigned post, maintaining correct stance.
  • Maintain knowledge of:
  • Scheduled daily activities
  • Features and services provided
  • Hours of operation for various amenities
  • At all times exhibit a polite and professional manner reflecting a willingness to accommodate.
  • Immediately address and resolve all relevant issues ensuring resident and/or guest satisfaction.
  • Assist staff members to ensure first class service.
  • Maintain clear passage of the car drop off area and sidewalks into the building.
  • Communicate parking procedures to residents and guests.
  • Secure taxicabs for residents and guests.
  • Assist residents and guests into and out of their vehicles.
  • Assist residents and guests with the loading and unloading of packages and luggage into and out of their vehicles.
  • Assure safety and security of all luggage and packages.
  • Transport luggage to and from the entrance area to the concierge package room or other designated area.      
  • Keep concierge apprised of weather conditions.
  • Relay accurate directions to residents and/or guests on inquiries regarding destinations within the local area.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of local attractions and activities.
  • Mop up wet spills in the lobby as necessary.
  • Assist in the placement and removal of lobby rain/snow mats.

Position Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in service and hospitality
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess a high level of organizational skills for documentation purposes
