The CEC Guest Services, located at 910 W Legacy Center Way, Ste 100, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84047 is currently hiring a Reconciliation Specialist GSCC.

Responsibilities include:

This position will be responsible for supporting the Marriott Global Gift Card program. Tasks include account reconciliations, activity audits and general accounting processes. The position will validate source system activity passes to the Marriott ledgers as expected, help mitigate hotel channel fraud risk, process certificate reimbursements, identify the need for and process manual journal entries and reconcile A&L accounts each month ensuring MIP66 (reconciliation policy) compliance. The position will also assist with analyzing processes, business activity and preparing reports, as well as assisting with other accounting projects as assigned.

CRITICAL TASKS AND SKILLS

General Ledger

  • Possess working knowledge of intermediate accounting and reconciliation practices
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and error corrections on a timely basis with a bias for accuracy and detail
  • Ensure sales and reimbursement suspense activity is corrected in accordance with MI policies
  • Research and resolve issues to minimize future invalid general ledger account entries
  • Perform accounting issue research and conduct problem solving on issues as necessary
  • Calculate and process recurring accounting system entries (service provider accruals, inventory expenses, etc.)
  • Process ad hoc correcting entries as needed
  • Maintain system accounting configuration
  • Maintenance and weekly update of Store/Hotel configurations in outside source system
  • Ensure credit card charge backs are appropriately processed
  • Ensure manual certificate reimbursements are processed accurately and on a timely basis
  • Process property true-up entries

Audit

  • Provide support documentation for external, internal, and Sarbanes Oxley audits
  • Perform internal transaction audits and submit results to leader for approval
  • Perform hotel gift card sales audits to mitigate associate abuse and credit card fraud risks
  • Perform held card audits
  • Perform quarterly EID/Givex access audits

Reconciliation

  • Perform source system to MI ledger reconciliations on a timely basis with a bias for accuracy and detail
  • Process and reconcile various internal promotions
  • Perform monthly A&L account reconciliations including areas such as credit card receivable, inventory and accruals. Ensure MIP-66 (reconciliation policy) compliance
  • Perform monthly sales and redemption reconciliations
  • Perform monthly admin cost actual vs. budget reconciliations
  • Manage the manual accounts receivable process for Marriott Rewards fulfillment vendor

Reporting And Analysis

  • Perform quarterly redemption analyses and create related charts
  • Create quarterly hotel audit and group sales reporting
  • Other accounting analysis and reporting as needed

Other

  • Assist team leaders with process review, validation and enhancement
  • Ensure activity is accurately recorded in appropriate tools and systems, including the Engage case management tool
  • Assist in annual budget data collection
  • Provide research and support in response to hotel and intermediary inquiries
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Associates degree in Accounting preferred or 2 years accounting experience
