SUMMARY:
This individual will provide resources and leadership for plant EHS operations and develop sustainable processes to manage risk and ensure compliance in a manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity to join a growing organization and champion best practices at the plant level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Work closely with plant operations and plant leadership to implement and oversee EHS initiatives and programs
Ensure program and facility compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations; generate reports and documentation as required
Be an active participant in plant processes and operations such as inspections, training sessions, community enrichment events, and others as needed
Perform risk assessments and lead the development of strategies and tactics to reduce risk and accomplish goals
Develop, plan, and track training sessions, inspections, and audits
Promote a safety-focused culture at the plant and develop EHS skills and leadership within plant operations
QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in safety, EHS, engineering or a related discipline OR equivalent EHS experience in an operations and production environment
Minimum of 5 years of progressive safety leadership experience in an industrial setting; salt, food, or chemical production experience preferred
Demonstrated experience establishing and implementing EHS management systems
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, and DOT safety regulations
Knowledge NPDES, SPCC, and waste disposal requirements
CSP, CHMM, PE, QEP, or other EHS related certifications a plus
