A Thru Z Pediatrics is looking for a reliable Pediatric Medical Assistant who loves working with children and provides awesome patient experience. As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Check with patients and type up patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Conduct appropriate diagnostic tests in a timely manner
- Administer Immunizations according to the AAP Schedule
Skills
- Certified Medical Assistant Degree
- 1 year Pediatric Medical Assistant experience preferred but not required.New grads welcome to apply.
- Obtain initial medical history for each patient
- Take vitals for each patient and triage in a timely manner
- Administer immunizations according to the AAP schedule
- Prompt documentation and scanning of information into the EMR
- Clean exam rooms after each patient and re-stock supplies as needed
- Complete all lab requisition forms and follow up
- Must be self-motivated to complete their tasks and learn new skills
- Must have excellent communication skills, both with patients as well as with other staff members and providers in the office
- Must have a positive attitude while at work
- Must be courteous to all patients, colleagues, and anyone else while completing business tasks
- Assist any provider as needed
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
