Technician II, Campus Safety Officer

Responsibilities and Duties Maintain campus security that may include patrolling area, responding to burglar alarms, identify offenders and maintain the security of buildings, facilities, equipment, etc., and protect them from vandalism, theft, destruction, and other adverse effects. Observe physical hazards or potential hazards, taking the appropriate steps to report items to the various divisions. Being a focal point to Facilities for snow removal or other adverse conditions. Taking reports, which include reports on crimes, injuries, campus rules, and regulations. Non police calls, such as unlocking doors for instructors and assisting with problems. Providing escort services for visitors, students, staff and faculty as necessary, provides other services such as lockout services and jump starts. Maintain data and prepare reports. Other duties as assigned. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Preferred Qualifications Degree in Criminal Justice preferred. Experience in a security setting preferred. Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of post-high-school education in a related field. Two (2) years direct, paid, full-time, work experience. Trade off 1:1 in experience/education requirement.
