Our client designs, develops and manufactures Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems for the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Flat Panel Display (FPD) industries and PCB production solutions, including laser direct imaging (LDI) equipment.  They have a large client in the Eau Claire area and want an onsite Service Engineer who will provide customer support to include installation, integration, troubleshooting, repair, and applications on these complex electro-mechanical systems.  This is a challenging opportunity with cutting edge technology.  There will be support as needed from staff at other locations.

Requirements:
1.  3+ years working with complex electro-mechanical equipment
2.  BS Electrical Engineering preferred but candidates with strong technical skills and training (especially military communications or navigation equipment) are encouraged to apply
3.  Excellent communication and customer service skills
4.  Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills are needed to be successful in this role
5.  Ability to multitask and self-manager (direct manager is offsite at another facility)
6.  Ability to travel overseas for training.  About 10% travel domestic and overseas

Duties:
1.  Ensure that all company equipment functions properly by assessing customer utilization needs and specifications, preparing sites, installing systems, gaining customer acceptance of systems, and doing post-installation checkups.
2.  Perform sensitive optical alignments, calibration of components, and machine settings on complex electro-mechanical equipment.  Integrate data interfaces.
3.  Perform advanced, total system-level troubleshooting, maintenance and service repair needs on designated equipment.  Involves evaluation of the customer’s application, manufacturing process, and environmental factors as well as assurance that the system performs to specification. 
4.  Perform appropriate software/hardware field modifications, engineering change orders (ECO’s), and upgrades on equipment.
5.  Orient the customer on the use of equipment and provide training on operation, complex applications and set ups, as well as basic maintenance.
6.  Maintain daily communications with the Response Center and customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
