A well-respected, leading manufacturer of electrical ceramic components is looking for a Ceramic Engineer to lead the development, processing and testing of new products at their facility near Augusta, GA. As a member of the Ceramic Team, the Ceramic Engineer will also support production by troubleshooting and improving current products and processes. This is a large company and leader in this market. The Ceramic Engineer will work with the Design, Quality, Process Engineering and Manufacturing departments, and will communicate with people at all organizational levels. These products are very sensitive to base material properties, so a solid understanding of advanced ceramics and processing of high purity materials is preferred. A Bachelors degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science or similar from an accredited university is required, along with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Candidates must have experience with statistics and in the processing of ceramic parts from powdered raw materials. Experience with nanomaterials is a huge plus. The Ceramic Engineer will direct and sometimes supervise a Lab Technician. Travel is negligible and occasional trips to visit customers and other facilities may be required.
