Reporting jointly to the University Director of Financial Aid and the Medical School Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid, the YSM Director of Financial Aid is responsible for providing quality customer service to all prospective and current students, parents, faculty members, counselors, extended family members, etc., through all methods of communication. The Director provides leadership and expertise in financial aid for the medical and physician assistant (PA) students and manages the delivery of financial aid services through development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive program from federal, state, institutional, and private sources.
This position will lead the Yale School of Medicine Office of Financial Aid, including the daily direction of two administrative staffs. The Office of Financial Aid currently services ~600 medical and PA students and interacts with prospective, and past students concerning all matters related to financing a Yale education.
The YSM Director of Financial Aid must be conversant with all forms and matters of financial aid (scholarships, grants, loans, and jobs) and is responsible for putting together financial aid recommendations and packages for Yale medical and PA students.
This position requires a bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and five years of experience in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
