PARTS SPECIALIST


This position is responsible for interacting with customers to provide information in response to inquiries regarding products and services, as well as to handling and resolving complaints of a higher technical nature or dedicated to individual customer support.



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Answers customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses and credit items.
Informs customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products.
Receives and processes incoming parts orders.
Uses computer system to enter, access, and retrieve data.
Checks inventory records to determine availability of requested merchandise.
Computes total charges for parts order including shipping charges.
Confers with warehouse and shipping in order to expedite or trace shipments.
Informs customers of order information, such as unit prices, shipping dates, and any anticipated delays.
Recommends merchandise or services that will meet customers' needs.
Procures parts for customers by creating purchase order and sending to vendor.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


Attempts to sell additional parts to customers during ordering transaction.
Receives and responds to customer complaints.
Verifies customer and order information for correctness, checking against previously obtained information as necessary.
Advises customers on substitution or related parts when applicable.
Handles irate customers in a professional and courteous manner.
Builds customer relationships through CRM system.
Performs other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or the equivalent.
Two (2) or more years in customer service, customer support or a call center environment in a technical business.
