1. Manages and directs a team of senior technicians and installers; including labor planning, scheduling, hiring, and staff evaluations.2. Performs sales support activities early in the sales process to provide input on vendor/partners selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, risk assessment etc. 3. Is the key team member for cost estimating, project scheduling and construction management of project sites. 4. Manages the profitable execution of assigned projects. Ensures that assigned projects are done accurately, on-time, billed, within budget and within scope of the contract. 5. Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow for assigned projects. 6. Understands project scope and customer expectations. Utilizes resource planning techniques to gain high productivity from team members. 7. Plans, schedules and controls project activities. 8. Broad knowledge of commercial/contractual complexity/deal structure/financial acumen/disciplines of supply chain negotiation skills communication skills c-level relationships. 9. Provides monthly reporting of project financial status and participates in the Area General Manager Monthly Project Backlog reviews, as needed. 10. Established long term customer and contractor relationships. Influences customer. 11. Develops and adheres to a Project Execution Plan for each assigned project.12. Establishes customer touch points throughout the life cycle of projects to gain feedback on customer satisfaction. Provides leadership by demonstrating focus on exceeding customers expectations. 13. Effectively communicates the status of assigned projects to project managers and operations manager as required; and provides monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin for project execution. 14. Fosters and maintains good working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, AHJ s customers and within JCI. 15. Ensures compliance with state, local and federal legal requirements. 16. Ensure business is conducted with the highest ethical standards. 17. Champions and drives the JCI Safety Program for employees and subcontractors at all levels; ensuring completion compliance with daily employee job safety checklists. 18. The Construction Manager is responsible for the following metrics all assigned projects: a. Project Profitability b. Executed Gross Margin c. Timely Project completion What we look for: A minimum of an Bachelor s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture or an Associate s Degree with equivalent work related experience and minimum of five (5) years of direct construction management experience in the Fire Alarm or Security Installation business. NICET Level III certification is preferred. Must be able to read blueprints, and have a demonstrable knowledge of CAD and Bluebeam Revu software. Management experience with projects related to Fire Alarm, Intrusion Detection, Access Control, CCTV management systems is desired. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience. The ability to travel. This will vary on project assignment. Projects may exist outside of assigned geography. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Software Suite, including Visio and Microsoft Project.
