This position is contingent upon contract award.

Telecommunications/Electronics Technician (TET) Level 3 will perform telecommunications Implementation installation duties at numerous global sites at various DoD facilities. The TET 3 performs site surveys and documents current site telecommunications configuration and user requirements. Develops on-site installation schedules. Mobilizes telecommunications installation team. Directs and leads documentation of the configuration changes at each site. Proficient in using common test equipment (e.g. amp meters, meggers, cable testers to include copper and fiber test sets (FireBerd, T-Berd, HST), digital test sets, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).

Proficient in testing communications equipment/systems and following standard test procedures and producing test reports. Must be proficient at trouble-shooting problems with telecommunications equipment to include system interfaces and circuits. Experienced at trouble-shooting and activating circuits. Prepares test reports, survey reports, edit/red line installation plans, edit/red line rack face drawings, cable diagrams, and test acceptance reports. The preferred candidate will have experience in performing systems installation for DoD customers in DoD facilities. The position is based in beautiful Sierra Vista / Ft. Huachuca area or potentially deployable from remote locations.

Qualifications:
Must have 2 years of telecommunications/electronics vocational training or professional certification from an ABET accredited technical school or equivalent military school and or documented experience of 2 plus years of DoD systems installation experience.
Experience
Must have experience performing installations IAW Quality Assurance standards such as :
Core-Telcordia Standards
NEC regulations
MIL HDBK -419, MIL HDBK 232A
TIA/EIA standards
BICSI standards

A minimum of 5 years experience performing the majority of the following specialties in the elements below:
Installationion of information technology equipment, firmware, and software and supporting infrastructure of equipment cabinets, cable ladder, cable ducting, raised floor installations, cable fabrication, communication facility power distribution, equipment grounding and hardware in accordance with MILSPECs, Core Telcordia, TIA/EIA standards, BICSI standards and Army Regulation (AR) quality standards.
Install, replace and perform baseline configuration of routing and dialing equipment
Inspect and service equipment, wiring, and phone jacks.
Repair or replace faulty, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment
Test repaired, newly installed, or updated equipment to validate proper operations
Adjust or calibrate equipment settings to improve performance
Maintain logs, installation records, update diagrams for as-built documentation of maintenance, repairs, and installations
Installation of switching technology, multiplexers, Microwave transport systems, Satellite systems.
Installation of RF Propagation systems.
Installation of AC and or DC facility power distribution systems to equipment cabinets.
Installation of Fiber optic distribution systems.
Installation of Grounding, bonding, shielding; or electromagnetic pulse / high-altitude electromagnet pulse systems.
Installation of copper cabling distribution systems within data or technical control facilities.
Installation of cable labeling per cable diagrams.
Fabrication of cabling IAW TIA/EIA standards to include copper (Ethernet, RS 232 D-type 25 pin connectors, RS-530 D-type 25 pin connectors ) and fiber optic terminations.
Installation of cabling systems per MIL-HDBK-232A, RED/BLACK Engineering Installation Guidelines
Performance of Systems Acceptance Testing and develop technical acceptance reports

Special Requirements, Certifications and Licensures:
Security Requirements/Clearances: Preferred candidate has an active DoD Secret clearance, Interim will suffice for 90 day period.
Have a valid passport with no travel restriction or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred candidate will possess a BICSI certified installer certificate or greater professional certificate.
Must possess your own installation tools with fly away travel case (specialty tools will be provided).

Physical Demands:
Valid US Passport
Willing to travel overseas up to 75%
Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as necessary
Must be able to lift 50lbs
No Relocation assistance
