Our client, University of San Francisco (USF) is looking to fill a temp-perm Payroll Analyst position to support the Payroll Department. Resumes are being reviewed immediately and qualified candidates will be considered.

The Payroll Analyst is primarily responsible for the coordination of all Payroll Services reporting matters including, but not limited to, the design, implementation, and maintenance of data sets and documentation while insuring compliance with fiscal policies and procedures, work with highly confidential information and support strong internal controls. Analytical systems will focus primarily on working with Banner HR and Finance, Web Focus Business Intelligence, ACL and Concur Invoice systems performing high level analytical duties in support of the department. The Payroll Analyst will also work closely with university-wide business managers, Business and Finance Division, Planning & Budget, Student Accounts, Internal Audit & Tax Compliance, and Information Technology Services in this position.

Description:

Primary role within the Payroll Services area for all technical projects that includes testing for all upgrades or patches to systems used by Payroll Services and the development and testing of any new business processes. Design and develop data quality reports and other ad-hoc reporting for any of the Business Services systems upon request. Participate in professional forums to keep abreast of trends and issues incorporating best practices for USF initiatives.
Serve as team member for Payroll Services projects working in partnership with HRIS and ITS as needed. Provide support to ABS Senior Analyst for Business Services.
Support Payroll staff at a high level to fill gaps, troubleshoot issues and have a complete understanding of the entire payroll process for Banner and its impact on employees and the financial system.
Utilize benchmarking techniques to produce administrative dashboards for better performance metrics, fraud investigations and automate repetitive or ad hoc reporting capabilities. Utilize analytics to identify compliance violations and areas of high risk to the University for Payroll Services. Provide timely project status updates.
Work with HRIS and ITS to develop automated exception reports and validations to assist in performing daily reconciliations and data quality control. This includes creating variance reports for specific issues and regulation changes as required for compliance.
Other duties as assigned by the Director to support operational needs of Business Services.

Job Requirements
A Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting or a professional certification in a related field with working knowledge of payroll operations or experience is preferred.
Experience working with Accounting, Payroll, HR or Finance systems is required, Banner preferred.
Experience, including but not limited to SQL, ODS, FTP and SPSS and five years of relevant experience in an analytical position is preferred.
Certification in Excel or Access is preferred as is a strong background in data integrity, concepts and theory.
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and critical thinking.
Ability to act independently, use time management skills to set and meet critical deadlines and multi-task in a busy environment.
