Our client, in the advertising and custom web development market, is seeking a WordPress Programmer with backend expertise, and ideally design experience to enhance their growing digital department. This position is responsible for developing and executing WordPress themes and managing multiple design and web projects simultaneously. Ideal candidate will work closely with the digital marketing director and marketing team. This is an open ended contract opportunity, with a start date of 11/04/2014 -- paying $45K-$50K, annually.
Their ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in the latest trends and best practices in print and web design as well as proven web programming skills using HTML5, CSS3 and PHP within the WordPress content management system. The Wordpress Developer must be able to problem solve programming, database and other technical issues related to programming. This is not a front-end programmer position but a true Wordpress Developer, who is well versed in developing custom wordpress themes and plug-ins from the ground up. Drag and drop wordpress experience will not work for this position.
Desired Technical Experience
• Bachelors Degree, graphic design, web design, or computer programming -- or equivalent professional work experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in graphic and web design/programming
• A portfolio featuring examples of clean design style (Web & print)
• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Mac proficient)
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, PHP a MUST
• Must be a technical problem solver
• Must work well independently
• Experience with WordPress and theme creation -- custom theme and plug-in development experience.
Technical Pluses
• Experience with social media API integration (ie. Twitter, Facebook, etc)
• Knowledge of Joomla and Drupal and other content management systems a plus!
• Experience with SEM/SEO and Video a plus!
