This position is designed to provide individuals currently pursuing either a Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting (or related field) with assignments that further their knowledge of the audit function within a public accounting firm. Typically, incumbents will be in their senior year of college or in their final year of pursuing a more advanced degree. The primary responsibilities for this role are as follows: Participates on assigned audit/tax engagements including preparing financial statement reports and documentation supporting P&N s opinions, performing analytical review of audit documents, identifying accounting and auditing issues, performing assigned testing and self-review of work product. Develop an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. Monitor workload on a weekly basis. Stay current and comply with firm policies regarding audit quality, continuing professional education (CPE), and time entry Begins identifying issues/concerns and communicates such items to supervisors. Begins to exhibit analytical ability and diligently performs assigned tasks with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity. Demonstrates respectful, professional behavior and communications to others (internal and external) Maintains a positive attitude and is receptive to constructive criticism. Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that customer confidentiality is assured. Assists co-workers with the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. If applicable, prepare for and take the CPA examination at every available opportunity. Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all firm and client information Demonstrates ethical behavior. Performs other services as required. Skills, Education, and/or Experience Required: Primary Qualifications Education: Working towards a Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Masters in related field from an accredited College or University. Must have completed Intermediate Accounting II Minimum GPA requirement is a 3.0 Certifications: None required. Work Experience: None required Special Skills: Must have effective and professional oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a diverse team with professionals at all levels. Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism including the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Must be computer literate with the capability of performing at an intermediate level with respect to the Microsoft Office Suite of products or similar software applications.
