General Accounting Clerk
This position is responsible for assuring accurate and timely vouchering and verification of invoices, to asure that generally accepted accounting principles are adhered to in the preparation of accounting information, to accurately enter data, and to perform other clerical duties.
The accounting clerk is responsible to:
Gather and compile data, input transactions, reconcile various accounts associated with this responsibility.

Match invoices to receiving documents
Post invoices into computer system
Generate accounts payable refund checks
Analyze expense reports
Challenge and explore all major discrepancies in requisition and invoice
Organize and match returns paperwork
File paid and unpaid invoice and statements

Reconcile cash accounts and posts transactions daily
Maintain petty cash
File multiple state sales tax returns
Maintain proactive courteous and professional communication with coworkers, management and clients
Prioritize workload and work under constraints to meet deadlines within areas of responsibility
Exercise creativity in the development of solutions and systems to continuously improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness in an everchanging environment
Assist the department with accounting related tasks as required

Requirements:

General knowledge of accounting including the accounting accrual system
Basic understanding of the general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoices
High school diploma with some college or college degree preferred; basic accounting coursework must have been completed successfully
Three years of college level accounting or experience
Strong computer skills
Must be well organized, able to manage time efficiently and have the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow procedures and policies
