I was doing my normal gig in Sturgis, SD for the biggest motorcycle rally in the world when I came across this artist who was craftily putting an inlay onto a table. What craftsmanship! So, I stopped and we chatted.

His name is Antoniotsai (Tony) is an internationally-renowned Taiwanese inlay artist and luthier. I was admiring his work and jokingly suggested he do a guitar for me! You know…. like a promotional thing where I would tell everyone what he did to my guitar.

He laughed and we parted ways. Well, five months later I get this box sent to me and notice that it is postmarked from Vietnam. Now, I had visited there back in 1973 but I knew no one from there. I opened the box and wrapped like a baby was this guitar!

Beeeeutiful inlaid work on the neck and on the head and a hand painted tiger on the body! I dug and found a letter from Antoniotsai (Tony) that he liked the music he heard and wanted to give me a gift! Heck, if ALL of the people would do that, I would have to move into a Home Depot!!!

And the hand painted (HAND PAINTED, not a sticker!) Bengal Tiger is the icing on the cake. Not a flaw and Tony did it right!

I plugged it in and is simply growled (like a ……..tiger). Sounded awesome with amazing sustain and the neck was easy to play. This is an old guitar that was brought back to life with an amazing pickup that simply is great, neck is straight, frets are healthy, truss rod is healthy, no nicks, divots, and it boasts a little weight. Awesome!!!!
