ORIGINAL VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE JOE COCKER 1974 A&M RECORDS POSTER COLLEGE DORM ROOM
This sale is for one (1) used JOE COCKER, (1944-2014) POSTER “I CAN STAND A LITTLE RAIN”
THE STORY:
This IS GENUINE AND ORIGINAL. This was on the wall in my college dorm room at Merrill Hall, Ferris State College (now University), in Big Rapids, Michigan, during the 1974-1975 school year. My roommate at the time bought the newly released Joe Cocker LP record album, “I Can Stand a Little Rain” and acquired the poster at the same time.
Joe watched over a lot of parties, homework sessions, smoking sessions, sneaking in girlfriends and many other unreported activities over that school year. At some point the roommate moved on and left me the poster. It went up on the wall in another dorm room the next year and then was tucked away after college, in a tube for the next 40 years and forgotten about. With wives, jobs, kids and car payments a Joe cocker poster was not on the top of my priority list. So Joe just sat in the tube for a long, long time. I had to do some looking through things, but I remembered the poster. Now with the passing of Joe Cocker in December 2014 it is time to make this vintage piece available for sale.
CONDITION:
Hey remember this is 40 years old. Sure there are some scuffs, tape marks on the backside and a couple of small tears in the black border, but what a story. The poster measures exactly 62 cm X 79 cm. Why metric dimensions, I do not know. This converts to 24.4094 inches X 31.1024 inches. This poster IS NOT A REPRINT and is original from “Back in the Day”. It will ship rolled up in the cardboard tube that it has been and the mailman can deliver to your door. There is enough shine to the poster that I had a hard time getting good pictures. The glasses are NOT included and are just there to weight the corners down while taking pictures.
