 Certificate Program in Sanskrit Proficiency - Advanced Phase 

The program comprises eight classes for students of all ages, post high school (Grade 12 or GED). It is the last of three phases that follow - Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, which together comprise the Certificate Program in Sanskrit Proficiency. It will require that you have completed the Beginner as well as Intermediate phases of the Sanskrit proficient program. (Total 8.4 quarters) As the students grow in their proficiency, the language of instruction will gradually shift to Sanskrit studies and at a rate that is easy and comfortable. 

It's an eight - Quarter, 88 - week study that prepares students who have prior Sanskrit studies Knowledge to be capable of learning to read, write, and composing simple passages as well as participating in conversations that help them enter higher-level courses with ease. Intermediate Level CPSP is designed for teens and adults who are eager to learn a new language with depth and apply it when studying texts and literature of Hinduism and its numerous derivative knowledge systems. The course is taught by dedicated HUA Faculty members, via an easy-to-use Online Platform, featuring a learning model that employs interactive virtual classrooms. 

Program Structure: 

This Certificate Course in Sanskrit studies Proficiency - Advanced Phase is structured in the shape of eight quarters (2 years) sequence, 1.5 Credit hours per quarter. The total will be 120 instructional hours and 240 hours of self-study in total. Innovatively designed using the curriculum and textbooks designed in collaboration with Samskrita Bharati USA (SBusa.org) The course will be based upon material found in the SBusa publication of books such as "SUBHASHA" "SUVAANII" "KUSUMAM" and "SAURABHAM" and will be supplemented with other relevant courses' content. 

When they have completed this phase, students will be offered the option to take up more advanced courses in Sanskrit through: 

(a) the Master's Certificate Programs, or 

(b) an advanced Master's level degree. Sanskrit studies In any event, students will be part of a "Higher Education" ecosystem that supports and enables advanced learning in Hindu studies as and Sanskrit literary studies. Structured innovatively using the base curriculum along with textbooks developed as well as published by Samskrita Bharati, the Program will be based on the material found inside the books. 

Learning Objective(s): 

At the end of the curriculum, students will be able to achieve an understanding of the Sanskrit language, in relation to the six dimensions listed below: 

(a) Reading (i.e. reading, alphabets sentences, and words); paThanam 

(b) writing (Forming coherent sentences and paragraphs); lekhanam 

(c) (c) Listening (Comprehending Sanskrit speech when someone is talking); shravaNam 

(d) Conversation (Being able to speak precisely Sanskrit in a way so that others are able to comprehend what it means); sambhAShaNam 

(e) Grammar (The structure and the technology of the language); vyAkaraNam, and 

(f) Comprehensive (Being adept at engaging with complex sentences, both written as well as written, and figuring out the meanings of them without assistance. avagamanam
