1973 Citroen SM-A Grand Touring Coupe. Finished in Brown Metallic (#AC427 Brun Scarabee) with Outstanding, supple
tobacco leather interior.
One of the last cars produced for export to US (12-73 Production). Equipped the highly desirable 3.0 Liter (2965
cc) 4 Cam Type C114/04/2 - 180 HP - 3 / 2bbl. 42DCNF Webers V-6 Maserati Engine coupled with a multiple application
Borg Warner T35 3 speed Automatic that performs flawlessly.
The Vehicle has been recently sorted with no expense spared as it was set up for my personal collection by a N.E.
US Citroen expert. Services performed but not limited to: new suspension spheres, rebuild and sync carburetors, new
battery, new proper sized premium tires, AC system refurbished /upgraded, power window brass gears, servicing of
all systems, etc.
This SM drives flawlessly with everything working as it should to include cold Air Conditioning.
The vehicle has an original Michelin spare, complete tool kit, owners manual, shop manual, period correct coco
mats, sales brochures and a car cover.
The Glass, bright metal, seals, carpeting etc. are all excellent. There is no evidence of any past or present
collision or rust problems. The first repaint is of extremely high quality with no dings, scratches, chips or touch
up on this always garaged example
The interior is excellent to include seats, door & side panels, headliner and a flawless dash / console with no
cracks. The vehicle has it's original sound system.
These vehicles were exported to US Dealers during the 1972-73 model years in small numbers (2,037) and have had a
high attrition rate due to neglect and limited knowledgeable repair facilities. Usable examples are uncommon while
examples of this caliber should be considered rare. It seems that vehicles lost to attrition were not crushed but
rather retained for their future parts value making "hard" parts
