Description

Maserati began production of the 4-door luxury Quattroporte sedan in 1963. Production was launched in Italy, and since then there have been six generations of the Quattroporte model. The first generation of this lavish sedan was produced from 1963 to 1969.
As the sale of Maserati automobiles increased, the styling and speed of the car drew the attention of Prince Karim Aga Khan who ordered a special Maserati 5000 WP in 1962. The following year, Maserati launched is first-generation Quattroporte, which was strikingly similar to the earlier design. The design of the first generation was conducted by Pietro Frua and joined two other notable touring sedans, the Facel Vega and Lagonda Rapide.
