Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum, 2-3 years of experience in the care and cleaning of buildings with the ability to pass/maintain a clean background screening. Must be able to Buff, Strip, Wax, and Shampoo Carpet flooring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform and oversee a variety of janitorial and/or custodial tasks to maintain clean and safe building:
Floor Maintenance: All areas not having carpet (including floor, hallways, stairways, and elevators) or not specified elsewhere as having special flooring, shall receive regular floor maintenance. Floor maintenance includes sweeping, dust mopping, damp mopping, dry buffing, spray buffing, stripping, and waxing as required, to achieve a uniform glossy appearance and be free of scuff marks, heel marks, streaks, detergent residue, and other stains or discoloring.
SWEEP AND MOP FLOOR: After sweeping and mopping, the entire floor surface, including grout, shall be free from litter, dirt, dust and debris. Grout on wall and floor tiles shall be free of dirt, scum, mildew, residue, etc. Floors shall have a uniform appearance without streaks, swirl marks, detergent residue, or any evidence of soil, stain, film or standing water. Moveable items shall be tilted or moved to sweep and damp mop underneath. Floors shall be stripped, scrubbed, waxed, etc., and as necessary to maintain sanitary conditions and a clean, uniform appearance.
Clean and Disinfect: Completely clean and disinfect all surfaces of sinks, toilet bowls, urinals, lavatories, showers, shower mats, dispensers, plumbing fixtures, cigarette receptacles, air grills, doors, walls, and other such surfaces, using a germicidal detergent. After cleaning, receptacles will be free of deposits, dirt, streaks, and odors. Disinfect all surfaces of partitions, stalls, stall doors, entry doors, (including handles, kick plates, ventilation grates, metal guards, etc.), and wall areas adjacent to wall mounted lavatories, urinals, and toilets.
De-scale Toilet Bowls and Urinals. De-scaling shall be performed monthly as a minimum and as often as needed to keep areas free of scale, soap films, and other deposits. After de-scaling, surfaces shall be free from streaks, stains, scale, scum, urine deposits, and rust stains.
Clean Light Fixtures, Vents: Easily removable (not requiring tools) light fixtures shall be cleaned to remove bugs, dirt, dust, grease, and other foreign matter.
Clean Drinking Fountains: The tops and sides of the drinking fountains shall be cleaned. The adjacent walls shall also be cleaned. Surfaces shall be free of streaks, spots, or smudges.
Spot Clean: Smudges, fingerprints, marks, streaks, etc. shall be removed from washable surfaces of woodwork, walls, partitions, cabinets, doors, fixtures, and panels. Doors, hardware, handrails, etc. shall be polished with a polishing compound.
Dust Ledges, Counters and other Flat Surfaces: All dust, lint, and dry soil shall be removed from ledges, counters, and other flat surfaces (including comers and vents) such as moldings, window ledges, frames, and shelves that are within reach or up to seven feet above the floor. Dust Venetian blinds.
Wash Stairway to Remove Scuff Marks and Stains: Clean stairways with soap and water or commercial cleaner to remove all scuff marks and stains (which can be removed without requiring refinishing).
Wash Wastebaskets: Empty all wastebaskets and sanitary napkins containers. Remove all refuse to outside dumpster. Replace plastic liners when soiled or torn. In case of leakage, damp wipe receptacle clean. Clean receptacle exterior as needed.
REMOVE TRASH. Shall empty and remove all trash from wastebaskets to include Food vending area, inside trash containers, and exterior trash containers as required by the contract.
INTERIOR & EXTERIOR GLASS CLEANING: Wash glass entrance doors and vestibule windows, interior and exterior, with cleaning material that shall not film or streak, or stain. Wash interior & exterior windows and window sills.
PERFORM SPOT CLEANING
DISINFECT RESTROOMS. Shall completely clean and disinfect toilet bowls, urinals, wall mounted lavatories, sinks, showers, mirrors, partition surfaces, faucets, dispensers, valves and connecting pipes using an approved germicidal detergent. Disinfect all surfaces of partitions, stall, stall doors, and wall areas.
CLEAN/SHAMPOO CARPETS: All carpets shall be cleaned in accordance with standard commercial practices. A heavy-duty spot remover may be required in heavily soiled areas. After shampooing, the carpeted area will be uniform in appearance and free of stains and discoloration.
STRIP, BUFF, SCRUB, SEAL, & WAX FLOORS: Strip, buff, scrub, seal, and wax floors as necessary to maintain a uniform glossy appearance. A non-skid wax is required. A uniform glossy appearance is free of scuff marks, heel marks, wax build-up, and other stains and discoloration.
