This tenure-track position includes the following: Conducting a program of focused research and publication; Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in foreign or world languages acquisition education; Supervising students in field placements and internships; Collaborating with public schools and university faculty (Stillwater and Tulsa campuses); Recruiting students to the Foreign Language Education program; Communicating and collaborating with Foreign Language faculty in College of Arts and Sciences; Developing an ELL Certificate Program; Developing domestic and international opportunities for students to improve oral language proficiency in their target language; Mentoring and advising master's students; and Engaging in professional service at the program, school, university, national, and international levels. The successful candidate will appreciate the University's land grant mission and embrace opportunities to make a positive impact on the lives of people in Oklahoma, the nation, and the world through high-quality and integrated teaching, research and service. The position is ideal for an innovative professional with possibilities to develop programs such as a Master's of Arts in Teaching in Foreign Language Education, study abroad courses, or language emersion experiences for students to develop cultural competencies and oral proficiencies. Although primarily assigned to the Stillwater campus, teaching and outreach opportunities also extend to the OSU Tulsa campus and international partners. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D./Ed.D. in Foreign Language Education/World Language Education, Bilingual Education, or a related field. Advanced proficiency in Spanish and English. 3 years teaching experience in US K-12 schools. An established or emerging research agenda. Ability to teach a range of language acquisition and language acquisition pedagogy course. Preferred qualifications: Foreign Language/World Language Teacher Certification. ELL Certification or Experience. Fluency in an additional World Languages typically taught in K-12 schools, such as French or German. Leadership in professional organizations and in program area. Experience teaching in a blended/hybrid online environment. Expertise in developing collaborative relationships with communities. Experience in ACTFL/CAEP accreditation procedures.
