Reliability & Technical Support Engineer

Job Designation


The Senior Engineer, Reliability, Maintainability and Safety provides significant expertise, while performing complex tasks to evaluate the reliability, maintainability and safety of products. Ensures programs reliability, maintainability and that quality performance is aligned with regulatory and company requirements.




Job Core Responsibilities


Applies significant expertise in ensuring that reliability, maintainability and safety are built into products.
Supports development team on complex issues to meet a high level of product quality.
Collects and evaluates service and maintenance data; conducts root cause analysis of in-service problems and implements corrective actions.
Ensures that reliability/maintainability features are designed into the product; assesses the theoretical performance characteristics of designs and evaluates hardware/software specification requirements.
Leads safety and hazards analysis, failure modes and effects analysis definition and documentation.
Interfaces with customers, vendors, and development groups to analyze designs and to develop logistics plans.
Provides knowledge and significant expertise on complex issues while acting as a professional resource for colleagues.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.



Job Specifications


Education: Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Years of Experience: 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
Skills:
Ability to provide significant expertise and to select applicable methods and/or programs.
Demonstrates ability to absorb and apply new technical information, evaluate implications, analyze complex information and standard practices.
Significant understanding and experience with reliability-based logistics and root cause analysis to analyze data and correct anomalies.
Excellent understanding of quality requirements to facilitate compliance with program reliability/logistics.
Effective communication, both written and verbal skills and ability to work with other departments.
