Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Buyer-Planner-Scheduler to join our Supply Chain team in our Owatonna, MN facility. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, buying, reviewing, and managing of raw material (Steel) orders that support the manufacturing operations, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services to the customer. You will work with the Shop Floor Coordinator to assist in meeting goals on the production floor, and work with Suppliers, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, and Sales on continuous improvement in product and process.

Tasks
Perform daily review of system-created planned orders following the Planning process and Control Center (Planned Order Review): Planned Orders, Reschedule, Firm Plan, Release, or Delete.
Plan and buy goods and services at the best negotiated cost/value/lead-time to support business demands.
Minimize inventory ownership and transactions through execution of consignment and visual restocking programs.
Support new product releases by setting up part numbers, inputting data from quote package into ERP (Baan) system, and forecasting necessary quantities.
Respond to system-generated reschedules in a timely and effective manner.
Work with Forecast Analysts and Sales Department to ensure efficient program, promotion, and daily business activity.
Assist with customer issues by acting as a direct POC for customer concerns.
Follow and continually monitor established safety procedures to assure a clean, safe work environment is promoted and maintained.

Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Business or related field is preferred. Will consider equivalent years of experience in a related manufacturing environment in lieu of a degree
Minimum 2 years experience in a procurement related field is required. Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired
Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing planning and scheduling concepts, purchasing concepts, forecasting, and MRP required
Knowledge of Business Process Flow, including demonstrated understanding of components of total cost (material, labor, overhead) plus transaction costs
Knowledge of inventory management concepts and techniques
Experience with Bill of Materials is highly desired
CPIM or APICS Certification is a plus
Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel. Knowledge of ERP systems, especially Baan, highly preferred
Strong organizational skills and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time, including following up on his/her own actions
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to arrive at creative win/win solutions
