On behalf of leading national horticulture company based on California's West Coast, we are seeking candidates who will have the ability to effectively and successfully manage this client's sales and marketing department.

Responsibilities to include (but are not limited to) the following:

* Manage customer service requirements of assigned account base and explore new sales opportunities utilizing all applicable methods of communication.
* Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.
* Acquire a level of product knowledge as to inspire customer confidence.
* Service and maintain assigned customer accounts
* Responsible for meeting department productivity and customer service goals
* Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department in an effort to increase sales
* Create and maintain successful interdepartmental relationships
* Coordinate and implement solutions from process analysis and general department projects
* Lead development, analysis, and preparation of reports of projected sales goals and forecasts.
* Work well with and lead proactively sales team and department associates
* Effectively manage customer base to meet shipping method deadlines
* Explore and attain new account opportunities
* Actively foster and lead sales meetings
* Maintain proper customer service in the face of possible stressful situations
* Communicate with shipping to ensure customer needs are satisfied
* Adhere to company policies and procedures including all safety policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Maintain at all times a professional and positive work attitude
- Attend various trade shows or road trips as deemed necessary
- Communicate concerns of customers with regard to company relations
- Other duties as assigned

This is a full-time senior level position with an excellent highly respected company. Eligible for competitive compensation package.
Candidate Requirements Ideal candidate will have the following skills and/or experience:

- Progressive and proven sales experience / horticultural sales experience highly desirable. Must have experience working with perishables
- Sound knowledge of standard sales processes
- A thorough understanding of market conditions
- Strong communications and team building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present formal and informal settings with senior executives, peers, and business partners with poise and confidence
- History of developing strong and effective relationships in a broad spectrum of environments, remaining open-minded, flexible and willing to explore the merits of ideas, regardless of their origins
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in complex and/or sensitive situations
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulturel/Agriculture or Business Administration
