Your Role:
Lead a team in providing client services when appealing their assessed value resulting in the best possible outcome. The property tax manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the property tax department. This role allows you to be the primary reviewer in order to assess notices, identify obsolescence, inflated valuations or other valuation issues leading to potential tax saving opportunities. The property tax manager will also be responsible for building new client relationships and managing department associates effectively.
Background Profile:
Manages the day-to-day operations of the property tax department
Oversees property associates and administrative staff
Fulfill property tax appeals with appraisal district staff and the Appraisal Review Board
Analyze and manipulate large sets of data provided by numerous sources
Provide marketing department with resources needed to successfully implement marketing campaigns
Facilitates working relationships with government contacts and strategic partners
Answers general property tax inquiries from current and prospective clients
Meets with local clients face-to-face and pro-actively follow up with other clients
Manages workload and projects as needed, placing emphasis on efficiency and effectiveness
Provides superior client services, ensuring the follow-up/follow-through is completed timely
Closes new clients from sphere of influences on a regular basis
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assist in recruiting, training, managing, leading and engaging all property tax associates.
Define and monitor KPI’s for managed associates on an ongoing basis.
Develop and execute improvement plans for lean operations through managerial stewardship.
Secondary Functions:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax and/or equivalent related work experience preferred
3-5 years of hands-on experience in managing a property tax appeals process preferred
TDLR Certification as a Property Tax Consultant Required
Utilize the CRM system to track status of current clients/leads and provide periodic communications
Performs property tax research, communicate findings, advise clients and trains associates on moderate to complex tax matters
Ability to anticipate areas of need based on overall observations and interactions will all associates, clients, partners and vendors and respond effectively.
Adheres to all company core values, policies, procedures and business ethics codes, and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Performs other related duties or complete special projects as assigned.

Ability to interact and connect with prospective clients

Ability to delegate, manage, multi-task, and possess strong time management skills
Strong computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on access and Excel for database management.
