Description

1936 Martin 00-18SB serial # 62614

A very special and best year ever for the 14-fret 00-18s with stunning real sunburst finish, not a shaded top.
In the Golden Age of 14-fret Martins from Pre-War era, I would believe only in 1935 and 1936 did Martin use Brazilian rosewood for the fretboard and bridges of 18's.
Its tone is considered by many to be the best in the 14 fret, 1-3/4 inch nut era.
There are no cracks on the top, side and back.
However, there are scratches, ding, pick wear and some cracks in the finish on the bottom side of the body, you also may see some weather cracks on the top.
All the wood is intact.
The back side has a minor buckle rash and scratches as shown in the pictures.
Also, a part of finish peeled off and is discolored in the pick guard.
Original GROVER open back tuners.
Original nut.
Original Brazilian rosewood fretboard and bridge. (The saddle is newer ivory and non original bridge pins)
The neck is a mid-thirties slightly V-shaped profile.
1936 00-18 SB sound is nothing to compare because of the quality of the mahogany only used in that era and Adirondak spruce top.
